Heavy magnesium oxide

Heavy magnesium oxide, with the chemical formula MgO, also known as lamp powder, is a white or beige odorless, tasteless, and non-toxic powder. Its relative density ranges from 3.26 to 3.43, and it is easily soluble in acids and ammonium salt solutions but insoluble in water and ethanol. It readily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the air.

In terms of quality, it complies with the chemical industry standard HG/T2679—2006. In application fields, heavy magnesium oxide demonstrates a wide range of uses. It is not only a key raw material in the magnetic materials industry, used in the production of ferrite soft magnetic materials such as deflection coils for color televisions, but also an indispensable polishing agent in the steel ball polishing industry. Additionally, in the electrical industry, it serves as a raw material for phenolic resin (electronic powder), playing a significant role; in the dye industry, it acts as a production auxiliary for p-aminophenol. At the same time, heavy magnesium oxide is widely used in the feed, glass, ceramics, industrial catalysis, and environmental protection industries, making it an essential and indispensable raw material in these sectors.
